Japanese lacquer Artist, Mr. ISHIHARA, is coming to present his work

  

  

  

  

Japanese lacquer, URUSHI, is the unique art & technique of coating.

It requires  special method to extract the material from tree, and special skill of coating for minimum 3 to 6 times to produce the finest surface on art.

This technique can be adopted on many types of art such as painting, jewelry, carpentry, drawing, tableware, even bag-making.

Mr MASAKAZU ISHIHARA is a a renowned artist from KAGAWA prefecture, Japan.

Japan Center is honored to present “Lecture & Workshop of Urushi Art of Japan” to UAE’s local Community for the first time.

For those who are interested in Japanese Art, or who are looking for a new method on your own art,  or who would like to indulge on beautiful art-works, please join and experience the unique Urushi Technique.

PRESENTER: Mr Masakazu Ishihara is a member of the Japan Art Crafts Association.  He is an “Individual recognition of important intangible cultural property of Kagawa”, as well as a Lecturer of the Urushi Arts Craft Institute of Kagawa.
