Greetings From the Director

Youkoso!  Welcome to UAE-Japan Cultural Center. 

I established this Center in 2008 to serve the communities of both UAE and Japan.  I am a resident of UAE for more than 30 years and raised my family in UAE.  

Before establishing, I had been teaching Japanese Language in University and met many local youths who were interested in Japanese Culture.  At the same time,  I have offered many lectures to Japanese residents who were interested in UAE culture.  These experiences brought me the idea to establish a Cultural Center to serve both sides.

However, there were piles of issues to solve before establishing: venue, fund, resources, equipment, supporter…  But I met many people who lent me their hands and solved these problems one by one.   Now our activities have grown much bigger than I expected.  Many different nationalities also joined in our activities.  The students, who benefitted from our center, grew up and started giving back to the societies in various fields in UAE and Japan 

This Center aims to emphasize social communication and human interaction.  Information technologies develop day by day, and it seems not much need of human interaction to get some information.  However, we still emphasize the importance of communication, interaction, sharing and support for each other.  I hope our Center will build a stronger and more mutual-beneficial society in the future for UAE and Japan.
