Learn Japanese from the JFS™ curriculum
The UAE-Japan Cultural Center has adopted the Japan Foundation Standards for Japanese Language Education (JFS) to teach students through a variety of cultural and social topics, so that they meet every aspect of the language. Both levels use the Marugoto textbooks and are delivered by native, experienced Japanese teachers. A completion certificate is given at the end of the full course.
Level 1 · for new beginners
Starter A1

By the end you can
Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases for concrete needs.
Introduce yourself and others, and ask and answer questions about where you live, people you know and things you have.
Interact in a simple way, provided the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is ready to help.
Level 2 · after Starter A1
Elementary 1 · A2
Textbook: Marugoto Elementary 1 A2
By the end you can
Understand sentences and frequent expressions on everyday matters — personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment.
Communicate in simple, routine tasks that need a direct exchange of information on familiar matters.
Describe in simple terms your background, your immediate environment and matters of immediate need.
Who can join
Fifteen years old and above, any nationality. The curriculum is written for adults.
Teachers
Native Japanese teachers with classroom experience.
Certificate
A completion certificate is given at the end of the full course.
